Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a family of 12 poor children that would be raised with them eventually. She learned early on how to conquer of the difficulties she faced with her incredibly vivid imagination. Prior to learning how to read or write she wrote her own music. In 8 years, she got her first guitar. In the age of 11 when she was 11, she began singing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. That same year, Gold Band Records was an independent label. While she was a local star while in High School, she knew her goals were bigger. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first single to reach the top of the charts for the first time on Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on the show he had syndicated to television. Parton was hired in 1966, she joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. In 1974, she quit The Wagoner's Show due to the popularity of her own songs such as Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was way ahead of their joint release. Parton composed "I I Will Never Forget You" in support of Wagoner shortly after they separated. The track hit number. 1 for the first time in 1974.
