Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and made her stage debut as Flora McGrath when she played the character as Flora in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 years old for Best Actress Supporting Actress. The actress was chosen to play Flora McGrath the daughter of an blind Scottish pianist who in the middle of 19th century, moves into New Zealand for an arranged wedding after she accepted an audition open to all when she was just nine years old. She had little previous experience as an actor. The actress moved to the United States as a teen. Paquin made her debut as a child with a character in the Jane Eyre main character in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre as well as an important role on the film Fly Away Home. Paquin was a part-time actress in the television movie of 1997 adaption of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. She also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She portrayed teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
